
Crombeen Recalled by Dallas

Des Moines, IA - The Iowa Stars today announced that forward BJ Crombeen has been recalled by the Dallas Stars, the team's primary NHL affiliate.
Crombeen, 22, has played in 41 games with the Iowa Stars this season registering 13 points (6-7-13) with 103 PIM. Crombeen scored all six goals this season in the month of December along with 3 assists (2 in the 12/26 game versus Quad City) for a nine point total on the month. Crombeen will join the Dallas Stars in San Jose for his potential NHL debut on Thursday, January 17.
The 6-1, 190 pound right wing was drafted by Dallas in the second round, 54th overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft and played for the gold medal-winning Canadian U-18 at the 2003 World Under-18. Crombeen played four seasons with the Barrie Colts of the OHL before joining the Iowa Stars in their inaugural season in 2005. Crombeen registered the first penalty in Iowa Stars franchise history (roughing, :47 into 1st period) on October 6, 2005.
Last season, he played the majority of the season with Assat Pori of the Finnish Elite League, appearing in 55 games and notching 22 points (13-9-22) with 152 penalty minutes. Crombeen also played the final 13 regular season games and all 22 playoff contests with Idaho (ECHL), helping lead the Steelheads to the 2007 Kelly Cup championship. In 22 post-season outings, he registered 10 points (5-5-10).
The Iowa Stars also announced that left wing Tommy Wandell has been reassigned to Iowa from the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL. The 6-1, 190 pound forward had three goals in three games with the Steelheads since joining them on January 8.
