JOLIET, Ill. - Frontier League MVP candidate Trevor Craport eclipsed 80 RBIs on the 2021 season with four RBIs in the Florence Y'alls 6-3 win over the Joliet Slammers on Sunday night at DuPage Medical Group Field.

On the night, Craport went 4-4 and a walk, driving in runs in the first, seventh and ninth innings to lead Florence to its 52nd win on the season. Craport broke the 3-3 tie in the seventh with a two-out RBI single. The catcher gave Florence some insurance with two more RBIs in the top of the ninth.

Edgar Martinez was phenomenal in six innings of work, earning his sixth win of the season while striking out eight batters and walking one. His biggest inning came in his last. Working around a leadoff triple in a tie ballgame, Martinez struck out the next three batters to keep the game at 3-3.

Designated hitter Jose Brizuela, leading off his third game in a row, scored twice and drove in a run in a 1-3 effort. In total, six Florence batters reached base at least twice on Sunday night.

With the win and Evansville's home run derby loss to Schaumburg, Florence decreases the deficit in the Frontier League West Division to 1.5 games. The Y'alls conclude the four-game series with the Slammers on Monday afternoon at 1:05 CT.
