Coyotes Recall Kempe; Assign Miska to Tucson

GLENDALE, ARIZONA - Arizona Coyotes President of Hockey Operations and General Manager John Chayka announced today that the Coyotes have recalled forward Mario Kempe from the Tucson Roadrunners, the club's American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate. The team also assigned goaltender Hunter Miska to the Roadrunners.

The 30-year-old Kempe has played in four games with the Coyotes this season and has registered 5-6-11 and eight penalty minutes (PIM) in 10 games with the Roadrunners.

Last season, the 6-foot, 185-pound native of Kramfors, SE recorded 18-19-37 and 22 PIM in 47 games with Tucson and collected 2-2-4 and four PIM in 18 games with the Coyotes.

Kempe was originally drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the fifth round (122nd overall) in the 2007 Entry Draft.

The 23-year-old Miska has played in one game with the Coyotes, stopping eight of nine shots against the Detroit Red Wings on Nov. 13. Miska has registered a 4-3-2 record with a 3.02 goals against average (GAA) and a .903 save percentage (SV%) in nine games with the Roadrunners this season.

The 6-foot-1, 174-pound native of Stacy, Minnesota posted a 22-9-0 record with a 2.63 GAA and a .901 SV% with Tucson last season.
