Countdown to Face-Off

Two teams that have playoff history will meet this evening at the Sovereign Center, as the Kalamazoo Wings take on the Reading Royals. Tonight is the first time since the 2009-10 season, that Kalamazoo has played in Reading; however, the teams have met each of the last two seasons in the playoffs.

Playing the middle-leg of a three-game road swing, the K-Wings began the trip with a 2-1 shootout victory on Sunday against division rival, the Toledo Walleye. With 45 points, Kalamazoo leads the North Division by seven points over the Chicago Express.

Tonight is game two of a four-game home stand for the Royals. Reading began the stretch at home with a 4-3 loss to the South Carolina Stingrays on Monday. With 36 points, the Royals are in third place in the Atlantic Division.
