December 29, 2008 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2)
Kalamazoo Wings News Release
The Kalamazoo Wings will play their final road game of 2008 as they head down to Allen County Memorial Coliseum to battle their arch-rivals, the Fort Wayne Komets. Kalamazoo is 3-2-0-0 against the Komets and have won three straight. All-time in the IHL, the K-Wings are 125-126-31-2 versus the Komets.
For the second straight meeting, second place and possibly first will be on the line as the K-Wings and Komets clash. Kalamazoo enters the contest two points ahead of Fort Wayne for second place in the IHL standings. The K-Wings are also just two points behind the Port Huron Icehawks for the league's top spot.
Tonight is the fourth game in four nights for the Komets. Fort Wayne snapped a three-game losing streak last night with a 5-1 drubbing over Muskegon. The Komets will receive a boost to their lineup, as forward Mathieu Curadeau returns to Fort Wayne after playing 12 games in the AHL with the Norfolk Admirals.
