Over the next six nights, the top teams in the Eastern Conference will become even more familiar with one another as the Kalamazoo Wings and Muskegon Fury will meet four times. Kalamazoo trails the season series with Muskegon with a record of 2-4-1.
A golden opportunity has been bestowed upon the K-Wings. Kalamazoo trails Muskegon by 12 points for first place in the east. With eight points up for grabs between the teams over the next week, the K-Wings can create a log jam in the standings by sweeping their rivals.
Muskegon comes into Wings Stadium trying to avoid their first three-game losing streak of the season. The top offensive team in the league has been stymied scoring a single goal in two straight games, while surrendering a total of seven in last weekend's losses.

Ready for Their Debut
Forward Paul Caponigri will join defensemen Tyler Kindle and Ryan Gillis in making their K-Wings debut tonight against Muskegon. Caponigri was acquired by Kalamazoo through a previous trade with Chicago. Kindle joins the K-Wings after beginning the year in the ECHL, while Gillis' arrival completes a prior trade with Bloomington.
Eight Isn't Enough
Forward Nick Bootland is frequently finding his name in the scoring column. Bootland, who leads the
K-Wings in scoring with 66 points, is currently on an eight-game point streak.
Happy New Year
Since January 1st, forward Mark Versteeg-Lytwyn has been finding the back of the net. Versteeg-Lytwyn, who is currently on a two-game goal streak, has scored seven of his nine goals this season have occurring in 2007.

To say that the K-Wings love to play on Fridays would be an understatement. This season, the K-Wings are 12-3-3 in games played on the sixth day of the week.
