Countdown to Face-Off

February 14, 2006 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2)
Kalamazoo Wings News Release

There will be no love lost when the Kalamazoo Wings host the Muskegon Fury during the 6th Annual Pink Ice Game. This will be the seventh meeting between the heated rivals this season and the second within the last four days. Kalamazoo, who leads the season series with a record of 3-2-1, defeated Muskegon last Saturday 4-0 in a game marred with 239 combined penalty minutes.

The K-Wings come into the game on a two-game overall winning streak and a three-game home winning streak. During the home streak, Kalamazoo has outscored their opponents 23-7. With 69 points, the K-Wings are only three points behind the Fury for the top spot in the Central Division and six points behind Rockford for first place overall in the league.

For the first-time this season, the Muskegon Fury enters a game on a three-game losing streak. The Fury will look to snap the streak on the road, where they have a record of 17-3-2 this season. Despite their recent setback, Muskegon still possesses the most lethal offense in the UHL. On the season, the Fury have lit the lamp 209 times and forward Robin Bouchard leads the league with 42 goals.
