
Robinson heads back to Milwaukee

Rockford, Ill.- Rockford IceHogs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Steve Martinson announced on Tuesday that goaltender Michel Robinson was loaned to Rockford's AHL affiliate, the Milwaukee Admirals. Robinson is expected to be in uniform on Wednesday when the Ads host the San Antonio Rampage at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee.
Robinson has now been loaned seven total times this season, including five to Milwaukee. Last week, Robinson was loaned to the Syracuse Crunch for Wednesday's game in Chicago against the Wolves, and earlier this season he was loaned to the Wolves.
The third-year goalie is the reigning UHL Goalie of the Week, Month (January) and Year ('04-05). Robinson currently has a record of 16-5-2, ranks second in the UHL with a goals against average of 2.23 and first with a .928 save percentage.
Also, defenseman Corey Hessler was returned to the IceHogs from the Admirals. Hessler was on his second call-up of the campaign in Milwaukee where he has 2g-1a-3pts and a plus/minus rating of +3 in seven games. Hessler is expected to be in the Hogs lineup on Wednesday when the Fort Wayne Komets come to the MetroCentre.
Including Robinson and Hessler, Rockford has had 11 skaters loaned to the AHL this season, a UHL high. Forwards Greg Barber, Chaz Johnson, Preston Mizzi, Jason Notermann and Billy Tibbetts, defenseman Matt Gens, Nathan Lutz and Evgueni Nourislamov and goaltender Vogel have all been loaned to the "A" a combined 23 times.
Next Home Game: Wednesday, Feb. 15 vs. Fort Wayne Komets. The game is slated to start at 7:05 p.m. The Hogs and Komets renew their divisional rivalry for the third time this season at the MetroCentre. Wednesday night's game is also the final FlyAway Wednesday game of the year brought to you by the Chicago/Rockford Airport, Allegiant Air and WXRX-FM 104.9.
