Frostbite Bitten for Four Points
February 14, 2006 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2) News Release
LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO--- The United Hockey League (UHL) announced Tuesday that the Adirondack Frostbite will be required to forfeit two victories for violation of the league veteran rule. The Frostbite used eight (8) veterans in victories vs. Missouri on Friday, January 27th (UHL Game #290) and vs. Quad City on Saturday, January 28th (UHL Game #298). UHL Rules and Regulations allow each team a maximum of seven (7) veterans to be eligible for any UHL game.
The UHL defines a veteran as any player who has participated in 300 or more regular season professional games prior to the 2005-06 season. Veteran goaltenders are those that have played 18,000 or more game minutes.
Per UHL Rules and Regulations, the team will automatically forfeit the points awarded in each game that the rule was violated.
The UHL standings will be adjusted accordingly with two points going to both Missouri and Quad City. All player and team statistics from the two games will not be affected.
