Kalamazoo Wings News Release
For the first time this season, the Kalamazoo Wings and Roanoke Valley Vipers will face-off against one another. The last time the K-Wings battled the Vipers, Roanoke Valley was known as the Port Huron Beacons. The once division rivals will play each other three times, with tonight being the last encounter at Wings Stadium.
With this game, the K-Wings will conclude a four-game home stand. The K-Wings are riding a three-game overall and a five game home winning streak into tonight's game. Kalamazoo enters the game in second place in the Central Division and just four points behind the Muskegon Fury, who the K-Wings will play tomorrow night.
Tonight starts a brief two-game road swing for the Vipers. Roanoke Valley is 2-2-0 away from home this season. The Vipers are currently in second place in the UHL's Eastern Division. Roanoke trials the Adirondack Frostbite by nine points for the top spot in the division and leads the Danbury Trashers by just two points for second place.

Tonight will conclude a four-game home stand for the K-Wings. The K-Wings are perfect 3-0-0 during the stretch and 5-0-0 this season at home. In fact, the K-Wings have dominated their opponents at home, as they have outscored their opposition 28-5 in games played at Wings Stadium.
Reaching a Milestone
With his first shift of the game, forward Lee Ruff will reach a personal milestone. Tonight will be Ruff's 300th game in his professional career.
Shutting the Door
With their shutout against Rockford on Wednesday, the K-Wings became the first team in the UHL to record multiple shutouts this season. The shutout was the K-Wings 20th in their franchise's UHL history; it was also goaltender's Joel Martin second of his career.
Dominating The Series
Over the past year and half, the K-Wings have dominated the all-time series over the Roanoke Valley Vipers, who were formally the Port Huron Beacons. Kalamazoo is unbeaten in regulation in their last 11 games (10-0-1) over Roanoke Valley, which includes nine straight victories. The last regulation win by the Vipers came on January 16, 2004 when they defeated Kalamazoo 6-3.
