Adirondack Frostbite News Release
GLENS FALLS, NY -- The Adirondack Frostbite picked up their fifth consecutive win on Friday night, defeating the Richmond RiverDogs 4-1 at the Glens Falls Civic Center. Adirondack improves to 11-2-0 on the season with the win.
Richmond scored the only goal of the first period as John DiPace beat Kris Tebbs on a rebound shot on a RiverDogs power play at the 9:12 mark.
The Frostbite tied the game just 1:57 into the second period, scoring a power-play tally of their own. Sylvain Cloutier won a face-off back to Scott Drevitch at the blue line, and his shot was deflected in front by Mark Hurtubise who picked up his third goal of the season. Hurtubise has at least one point in each of his five games with the Frostbite.
Lyon Porter put the Frostbite on top for good at 8:12, as he took a centering feed from David Moccia, and beat Doug Groenstege to the five-hole for his third goal in the last two games, and his ninth overall.
Bob Rapoza gave the Frostbite some breathing room at 5:21 of the third. Dmitri Suur hit Rapoza with a long pass just as he was coming out of the penalty box. Rapoza put a move on Groenstege and tucked a shot in on the near post for his second goal of the season.
Cloutier set the final at 7:00 as he one-timed a shot over Groenstege's glove.
Adirondack out-shot Richmond 44-22 for the game, and 33-11 over the final two periods.
Kris Tebbs made 21 saves for his sixth win of the season.
The Frostbite travel to Danbury on Saturday for a 7:30 p.m. face-off against the Trashers. Catch all of the action on WCKM 98.5 starting with the pre-game show at 7:10.
