Flint Firebirds News Release
Flint, Mich. - The Canadian Hockey League (CHL) announced today the roster for the annual CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game with Firebirds forward Coulson Pitre finding himself on it.
"It's awesome that Coulson has been invited to the Top Prospects game in Vancouver," Head Coach and General Manager Ted Dent said. "The Flint Firebirds organization and all of his teammates are very proud of him, and we all will be watching this event on TV. Coulson plays a fast hard game and is developing and improving all the time. He has been a great player for us since we obtained him in training camp last season. We are excited that he will be representing our organization."
Pitre was one of 15 players selected from the OHL. He currently has 10 G and 15 A in 29 GP with the Flint Firebirds. Additionally, he is +20 on the season which ranks 4th in the entire OHL.
"It is surreal to be selected for the Top Prospects game," Pitre said. "I am really excited about this opportunity and am fired up to play in the game come January."
Pitre is coming off a rookie season where he finished 3rd in the league among first-year players in points-per-game (0.85) and he set the franchise rookie goal-scoring record with 23. He was recently given a 'B'-rating by NHL Central Scouting's preliminary draft rankings which projects a player to be taken between the 2nd and 3rd rounds of the NHL Draft.
Pitre becomes just the fourth Flint Firebird to ever be selected to the CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game after Will Bitten (2016), Ty Dellandrea (2018) and Vladislav Kolyachonok (2019).
