Coulombe Clutch as Jackals Defeat Walleye, 2-1

Toledo, Ohio - Patrick Coulombe scored with 3:18 remaining in the third period to give the Elmira Jackals (17-12-5-0) a 2-1 win over the Toledo Walleye (13-17-2-1) on Wednesday night at the Huntington Center.

Dustin Cameron found Justin Donati in front of the net at 7:24 of the opening period, and Donati solved Joe Palmer with a shot on the doorstep to put Elmira up 1-0. Jody Pederson had the secondary assist on the goal for the first point of his career.

At 11:24 of the second period, Zack Torquato was found in the slot by Jason Lepine, with Torquato's wrister finding the net to tie the game, 1-1.

The game remained deadlocked until the 16:42 mark of the third period, when Patrick Coulombe beat Palmer glove side to give the Jackals the lead, 2-1. Tyler Donati fed Justin Donati on the left wing boards, with Justin Donati spinning around to find Coulombe backdoor to give the fifth-year pro the scoring opportunity. The game winner was Coulombe's first of the season.

Elmira's netminder, Marco Cousineau, earned his 10th professional win with a 27-save effort. Joe Palmer, in net for the Walleye, made 28 save as he fell to 4-8-0-0.

The Jackals are in Trenton to take on the Devils on Friday night.
