Prince George Cougars News Release

Prince George, B.C. - For a second straight season the Prince George Cougars are heading to the WHL playoffs and we can't wait to get the CN Centre rocking! Single tickets are officially on sale this morning at 10:00 AM through Ticketmaster while full playoff packages and group ticket offers (For groups of 10-or-more) are also available through the Prince George Cougars business office.

The first two home games (Games 3 and 4) will take place on Tuesday, March 29th and Wednesday, March 30th at 7:00 PM at CN Centre.

Last week on Tuesday, March 8th, the Prince George Cougars officially punched their ticket to the post season when the Tri-City Americans dropped a 6-2 decision to the Kamloops Blazers. It took the Cougars four fewer games to clinch their playoff spot compared to a season ago, and the Cougars have already earned five more victories and 10 more points than they did a season ago with two games still remaining this weekend.

The Prince George Cougars first round opponent still remains a mystery as the Victoria Royals, Kelowna Rockets, Seattle Thunderbirds and Everett Silvertips all remain possibilities. Heading into action this weekend, the Cougars are four points behind Kamloops for third in the B.C. Division, and finishing in the top three would mean either Victoria or Kelowna in the two-three B.C. Division matchup. Should the Cougars remain in one of the two Wildcard spaces, that would open up the door for either Seattle or Everett, depending on his the race for the US Division crown unfolds.

"There is no atmosphere in the WHL that rivals a packed CN Centre and we are thrilled to welcome playoff hockey back to Prince George for a second straight season," said Prince George Cougars Vice President, Business Andy Beesley. "All season long we have strived to provide our fans with a unique and enjoyable WHL experience, and the playoffs will be no different. Our players have battled so hard all season long to earn this opportunity and we can't wait to see how things will unfold!"

The Prince George Cougars wrap up their 2015-16 regular season with a home-and-home double header this weekend against the Kamloops Blazers. The Cougars and Blazers will square off first on Friday in Kamloops followed by a Saturday rematch at the CN Centre. Saturday night is Fan Appreciation Night and our final feature game of the 2015-16 regular season.
