Prince George Cougars News Release
PRINCE GEORGE, BC - The Prince George Cougars recently embarked on a poignant journey to the BC Cancer Centre Prince George, unveiling a profound exploration into the realm of advanced oncological technology. The visit, which transpired on February 6th, illuminated the team's perception of cancer treatment, and underscored the pivotal role of innovation and resources in combating this formidable illness.
Immersed in a tour showcasing state-of-the-art equipment and cutting-edge technology, the Cougars found themselves enraptured by the intricacies of cancer care at the BC Cancer Centre. Reflecting on the experience, Captain Hudson Thornton said, "Cancer is obviously a devastating sickness, but seeing the technology and essentially how everything worked at the Cancer Centre was nothing short of inspiring. It grasped our perspective on the depth of care and support available to patients."
As the Cougars absorb the profound impact of their visit, they now turn their focus towards the forthcoming "Cougars Fight Cancer" game on Monday, February 19th, coinciding with Family Day. Presented by PRD Construction, this game will show a display of solidarity and support in the fight against cancer.
During the game, the Cougars will don striking specialty pink jerseys, symbolizing unity in the face of adversity. These jerseys will be auctioned post-game, with all proceeds directed towards the BC Cancer Foundation, amplifying the impact of community generosity in advancing cancer research and patient care.
Adding to the excitement, the game will feature a mega 50/50 jackpot, generously sponsored by Wood Wheaton Supercentre, with a guaranteed amount of $60,000. Puck drop is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
