Cosmo Selected First in Dispersal Draft

December 12, 2008 - National Lacrosse League (NLL) News Release

The Boston Blazers selected goaltender Anthony Cosmo with the first selection in a dispersal draft held by the National Lacrosse League earlier today. The three-time All-Star selection is widely considered to be one of the game's top goaltenders. Edmonton selected defenseman Scott Self, a two-time All-Star with the second selection. Toronto selected forward Bill McGlone with the third selection. Complete draft results are listed below.

The league's twelve member clubs were selecting players from the Chicago Shamrox franchise, which has suspended operations for the 2009 season. The club suspended operations, citing deterioration in the general economy and depressed market conditions in leading to the decision to suspend operations for the upcoming season.
