
Conrad Martin Back With Cyclones For 2007-08

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators, announced today they have agreed to terms with second-year defenseman Conrad Martin.
Martin spent all of last season with the Cyclones, playing in 65 games and collecting 23 points on two goals and 21 assists. Conrad had three two-assist games during the season and both of his goals proved to be game winners. He finished the season with a plus/minus rating of +19, second-best on the club and sixth-best in club history.
Martin played collegiately at Mercyhurst, earning four varsity letters. As a junior in 2004-05, Conrad was named 'Best Defenseman' in the Atlantic Hockey conference and was selected to the league's All-Academic squad. As a freshman in 2002-03, he was selected to the league's All-Rookie team.
"Conrad Martin worked hard developed his game throughout last season," Cyclones Head Coach Chuck Weber said. "He was one of the top young defensemen in the ECHL last season. We look forward to his continued development and him getting the opportunity to make the next step in his career."
Martin, 24, is the eighth player on the Cyclones roster for 2007-08 (Barret Ehgoetz, Greg Gallagher, Billy Irish-Baker, Matt Macdonald, Gerard Miller, Scott Reynolds and Chad Starling are the others). Training camp for the team opens in early October.
