Connecticut Tigers Welcome Fifteen 2015 Draft Picks

NORWICH, CT- The Connecticut Tigers are set to welcome fifteen members of the 2015 Detroit Tigers draft class to Norwich. All of which are now on the active roster for the club.

The additions to the roster are headlined by first round pick (34th overall) Christin Stewart, an outfielder out of Tennessee and second round pick (65th overall) Taylor Alexander, a pitcher from TCU. The Tigers will also welcome in Cam Gibson, the son of former MVP and Detroit Tiger great Kirk Gibson. Cam Gibson, an outfielder, was drafted in the fifth round out of Michigan State.

The rest of the 2015 draft class that is set to arrive in Connecticut includes pitchers Matt Hall (6th Round, Missouri State), Taylor Hicks (26th Round, Georgia), Dominic Moreno (8th Round, Texas Tech), Jacob Shull (11th Round, Fresno State), Drew Smith (3rd Round, Dallas Baptist), and Trey Teakell (9th Round, TCU).

Incoming infielders are first basemen Tanner Donnels (21st Round, Loyola Marymount), shortstop Keaton Jones (15th Round, TCU), third basemen Josh Lester (13th Round, Missouri) and second basemen Patrick Mackenzie (28th Round, Central Michigan).

The incoming players are rounded out by outfielder Joey Havrilak (28th Round, Central Michigan) and catcher Tyler Servais (27th Round, Princeton).

The Connecticut Tigers are the New York-Penn League affiliate of the Detroit Tigers and play a 76 game schedule that runs from mid June through early September. 2015 season tickets, group tickets, mini plans, individual game tickets, and team merchandise are now on sale!
