Bakersfield Condors News Release
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors look to add to their current 7-game unbeaten streak by hosting the Alaska Aces on Tuesday at the Mercy & Memorial Hospitals Home Ice at Rabobank Arena for a 7 p.m. game. On Sunday, the Condors take the ice against the Las Vegas Wranglers with a special start time of 5 p.m. Doors open one hour prior to the start of both games.
Tuesday vs. Alaska - Fat Tuesday Canned Food Collection:
On Tuesday, the Condors host the Alaska Aces for the My 45, 106.1 KRAB Radio and Orion Payment Systems Fat Tuesday Canned Food Collection. Fans that donate two nonperishable food items will receive $1 terrace admission to the game as well as a necklace of Mardi Gras beads. The nonperishable food items will be donated to the Kern County Food Bank and the Golden Empire Gleaners. The Condors Fat Tuesday Canned Food Collection has brought in more than 12,600 pounds of canned food over its 11-year history.
Sunday vs. Las Vegas - Evening with Dora the Explorer:
Back by popular demand, Dora the Explorer will be on hand at The Nest to mingle with fans and take photos with youngsters, sponsored by Bright House Networks and La Preciosa 105.3. Doors open at 4 p.m., puck drops at 5 p.m.
Sunday is also a Bright House Networks Family Night. Spend Sunday night as a family, as all Bright Housesubscribers receive $7 admission per person by presenting the coupon available in your cable bill.
Additionally, all Condors Kids Club members receive free admission to the game, courtesy of Bright House Networks, Bakersfield Californian, and Wells Fargo. Finally, students who achieve academic excellence will receive free admission to the game through the Mercy & Memorial Hospitals and Diamond Technologies T.H.I.N.K. Night program.
Intermission Fun:
During the first intermission on Tuesday, one lucky fan will compete on the ice in the California Pizza Kitchen Pizza Punchout, by taking five shots to knock down pizza boxes and win CPK gift cards.
During the first intermission on Sunday, one fan will be blindfolded and will slip and slide around the ice to find the $100 PF Chang's gift card during PF Chang's Find Your Fortune Contest. Then it's the Mascot Sling Shot, as Colonel Claw'd and Baby Cal risk their health and safety to win a fan a skateboard from Cheapsk8tr.com.
During both games' second intermission, one lucky fan will be able to Shoot the Puck, Win the Truck, for the Condors one-of-a-kind 2008 Chevy Silverado, complete with Condors customizations on the interior and exterior, courtesy of 3-Way Chevrolet. If that contestant doesn't win, then one fan will be drawn at random to win the truck if a Condors player nets a hat trick (3 goals) all in the third period. Last week two fans came very close to driving home in the new truck, as one contestant put the puck within a few feet of the target on Saturday, and then Mark Derlago netted two third period goals on Sunday.
Sunday's game will be televised live on Bright House Networks Ch. 21. All televised games will be available on Bakersfield On Demand Cable Ch. 300, starting the following day.
