
RoadRunners Receive Beckford-Tseu From Florida Panthers

PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the San Jose Sharks and the Worcester Sharks, announced today that goaltender Chris Beckford-Tseu has been assigned to the club by the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League.
Beckford-Tseu, 24, went 3-14-1 with a 3.94 goals against average and a .857% save percentage in 22 games this season with the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League, Florida's primary affiliate. The Toronto, Ontario native and fifth-year professional also appeared in one game with the Florida Everblades last Thursday against Charlotte where he stopped 30 shots but suffered a shootout loss.
Beckford-Tseu has compiled a record of 46-17-6 with six shutouts, a goals against average of 2.27 and a save percentage of .919 in 73 regular season ECHL games, and more recently is 35-5-2 in 42 appearances over the last three seasons with the Alaska Aces. He went 8-4-0 with three shutouts, a goals against average of 2.04, and a save percentage of .930% in 12 games during the 2006 Kelly Cup Playoffs as he guided the Aces to their first ever Kelly Cup Championship.
Beckford-Tseu has been named the RBK Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week five times during his career and was selected as starter for the 2006 ECHL All-Star Game played in Fresno. He was selected by the St. Louis Blues in Round Five (#159 overall) at the 2003 NHL Entry Draft and became the 350th ECHL player to advance to the NHL when he debuted for the Blues on Feb. 21, 2008 at Los Angeles.
Beckford-Tseu has a career record of 82-61-14 with eight shutouts to go along with a 2.89 goals against average and a .903% save percentage. He was 6-1-0 with one shutout in seven appearances against the RoadRunners as a member of the Aces with a 1.35 goals against average and a .951% save percentage.
The RoadRunners continue a three-game home-stand at US Airways Center at 7:05 p.m. Monday when they welcome the Las Vegas Wranglers.
This is a revision from the original playing schedule. Season ticket holders and advance ticket buyers are advised that tickets purchased for the January 28 game against Utah will now be valid for Monday's game.
