Condors Sign Defenseman Piche

Bakersfield, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors of the ECHL have announced today the signing of defenseman Jean-Francois Piche. He will join the team immediately and make the lineup tonight when Bakersfield plays on the road against the Roanoke Express at 4:05pm(PDT).

Piche, 30, has played nearly his entire career in the senior league in Quebec, where this season he had 12g-23a-35pts and 76 PIM in 38 games with the St. Jean Mission. He led all defensemen on the team and ranked third overall with seven power play goals, and second on the team among defensemen in points. Last season he tallied 27 points in 28 games and split the season between the senior league and France, where he recorded 4g-4a-8pts in 14 French League games.

The native of Montreal played on defense alongside former NHLers Corey Foster and Bobby Dollas this season in St. Jean.

The Condors are on the road tonight, and in Fresno on Friday, but return with a pair of home games this weekend on Saturday and Sunday.
