Falcons Trade Rahikainen in Exchange for Rights to AHL Winger

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Falcons traded forward Riku Rahikainen to the Florence Pride yesterday in exchange for the rights to forward Mike Souza, who is currently playing for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in the American Hockey League.

Souza is a fourth-year pro who has spent his entire career in the AHL except for 17 games this season with the Pride, where he recorded 21 points (8g-13a). This season he has also played 27 games for the Portland Pirates of the AHL for whom he tallied 10 points (5g-5a). Souza just recently joined the Sound Tigers and scored a goal in his one and only game played.

Rahikainen registered 11 points (2g-9a) and 106 penalty minutes in 42 games with the Falcons.

The Falcons battle the Las Vegas Wranglers tonight at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas before returning home to face the San Diego Gulls tomorrow at 7 p.m. at Save Mart Center.
