Roanoke, VA – The Roanoke Express scored two quick goals late in the third period to snap a tie score and lead to a 4-2 victory over the Bakersfield Condors in front of 2,038 fans at the Roanoke Civic Coliseum on Tuesday night. The Condors have wrapped up their six-game East Coast swing with a record of 1-5.

The Condors fell behind when a turnover left a 2-on-0 in front of Condors G Joe Watkins, and the first tally of the night. Kevin Bergin notched his seventh of the season just 1:56 into the game to make it 1-0. Bakersfield had three first period power plays, and it was on the advantage the Condors scored the equalizer. Paul Rosebush notched his 16th of the season and team-leading seventh on the power play. Bakersfield led in shots 14-7 after one.

The teams exchanged second period tallies to keep it a tie score through 40 minutes. Andrew Ianiero scored just 2:08 into the middle frame on the power play to give the Condors their first lead in the last five games. Later in the second, however, the Express evened the score with Bergin's second of the night

The game remained tied at 2-2 until late in the game, when Roanoke took advantage of a shorthanded opportunity. Dan Carlson spun around and fired home his 16th of the season to give the Express the lead. They added to that less than three minutes later when Joe Dusbabek was left alone in front of Watkins, and deked home his 13th of the year at 17:10. That proved to be the back breaker as Rosebush tallied again with just 59 seconds remaining in regulation to cut the deficit to just one goal. However, 4-3 ended up as the final score.

Bakersfield returns to California but remains on the road next, as they head up to Fresno on Friday night for a 7:00pm match.
