Last Week

Thursday, CONDORS 4 vs. Fresno 2; attendance: 4,761 With a rare morning start time; the Condors came out of the gate early with a goal less than a minute in by Brett Lutes. Kevin St. Jacques later tallied a shorthanded goal and set up two others as Bakersfield fended off their Highway 99 rivals with a 4-2 win. The victory ran the Condors record to 9-0-1 at home this season.

Friday, Condors 3 @ LONG BEACH 2 (SO) Dennis Shiryaev's goal with less than 13 seconds remaining in regulation tied the game at 2-2 and led to a shootout win over the Ice Dogs. It was the second time in three meetings against Long Beach that the Condors have avoided a regulation loss with a last minute goal. Guy Dupuis also scored as Bakersfield improved to 2-2 in shootouts this season.

Sunday, Condors 4 @ VICTORIA 3 (OT) The Condors spoiled the home team's day in the first professional game played in Victoria, British Columbia in 37 years, winning 4-3 in overtime off a Brad Mehalko breakaway goal. Lars-Peder Nagel had two goals and some timely hitting, and Connor James netted his second shorthanded goal of the season as Bakersfield defeated the Salmon Kings for the fourth time this season.

Where we stand

The Condors are at 13-1-2 on the year, good for first place in the National Conference West Division. They currently own the best win percentage in the ECHL at .875%.

What's up this week

The Condors continue their road trip with three games and one home game to close the week. Tuesday and Wednesday night will feature the Condors in Victoria for a pair of 7:00 p.m. contests. On Friday, the Condors journey to Fresno for a 7:00 p.m. match.

They return home on Saturday, December 11th against the Greenville Grrrowl. The first 2,000 kids 12 and under will receive a Condors backpack, courtesy of KGET-TV 17 and Subway. In addition, the Condors are teaming up with R&D Leather Furniture for the Stay Focused Ministries Toy Drive that night. Bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate and receive a voucher good for a $1 terrace ticket to that game.

News from the Nest· The Condors are on a five-game road trip, their longest of the season so far, winning the first two in a shootout and in overtime.

· Ryan Gillis' assist on the game-tying goal Friday in Long Beach was his first point in 12 games, since he recorded 1g-2a in a 5-4 win in Long Beach opening weekend.

· Yutaka Fukufuji has started six consecutive games for the Condors since the injury to Randy Petruk on November 18th against Las Vegas. Fukufuji replaced Petruk in that game during the first period, and has played in the last eight games.

· The Condors are 6-0-1 when their opponent scores first.

· Bakersfield has outshot their opponents in 14 of their 16 games thus far this season.

· The Condors are 7-0-2 in 1-goal games. That includes 2-0 in overtime and 2-2 in shootouts.
