Everblades' McDonald Named In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Florida center Brent McDonald is the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for November 29-December 5.

Coming off injured reserve after missing six games, McDonald returned to the lineup and scored two game-winning goals and six points (5g-1a) while helping Florida win three games in three days to extend its winning streak to a season-high five games.

After assisting on the game-winning goal in a 3-1 win at South Carolina on Friday, McDonald, who is under contract to Lowell of the American Hockey League, scored three goals, including the game winner, in a 5-1 win at Pee Dee on Saturday. McDonald, who scored one goal and five points in his first 11 games, closed out the weekend scoring two goals, including the game winner, in a 4-2 win at Pee Dee.

Tied for the team lead with two game-winning goals, McDonald has scored 11 points (6g-5a) in 14 games with the Everblades.

Selected in the ninth round (239th overall) by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, the 25-year-old McDonald has played five seasons with Florida, scoring 134 points (61g-73a) in 221 regular season games and 14 points (5g-9a) in 29 Kelly Cup Playoff Games.

On behalf of Brent McDonald, a case of pucks will be donated to a Florida area youth hockey organization by In Glas Co, the exclusive puck supplier for the ECHL. In Glas Co has donated over 10,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities since it began sponsoring the award in 2000-01.
