Condors add rookie forward Tylor Michel

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors today have signed F Tylor Michel (mih-SHEL), as announced by Head Coach Marty Raymond. He is the second rookie to emerge from the college ranks to skate for the Condors this weekend.

Michel, 23, finished up his four-year career at Wayne State University, in the College Hockey America conference. He finished third on the team in scoring with 22 points (7g-15a) in 37 games, while adding a team-high 94 penalty minutes this season. In 123 career NCAA games, the 5-foot-10-inch, 192-pound Sudbury, Ontario native notched 61 points (24g-37a) and served 249 PIM. "Michel is another high-energy player with a great shot," said Raymond. "He is a smart hockey player who plays with a lot of passion and fits the character mold we're looking for."

In other roster moves, RW Jason Kostadine, who recently completed his ECHL-imposed two-game suspension, was placed on the 3-day IR today, while D Derrick Byfuglien was transferred from the 3-day to the 7-day IR late yesterday.

Upcoming Games Tonight the Condors host the Utah Grizzlies for the Country Music Jersey Off Our Backs Raffle & Auction, sponsored by Bright House Networks, KUZZ 107.9 and Bud Light. Everyone in attendance has the chance to win one of five of the authentic player jerseys raffled off, and the auction will benefit Valley Achievement Center.

The Condors regular season home finale is Monday, March 31 against Utah, the last March Monday Madness Game of the season. That is Blood Drive Night, sponsored by KUZZ 107.9. March is Blood Drive Month for the Condors, who have rewarded those who donate blood at area Houchin Blood Banks with a voucher good for $1 admission to this game. Also, it's the final night of the five-piece magnet collector series, featuring Colonel Claw'd.

Doors open at 6 p.m., the puck drops at 7 p.m.

Individual game tickets are now on sale and may be purchased through the Rabobank Arena Box Office, which is open from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday with extended hours on game days.
