P.J. Atherton Re-Assigned To Reading

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League and the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, today announced that defenseman P.J. Atherton has been re-assigned to Reading from Manchester. Atherton (6'2/205) (25), a second year pro from Edina, Minnesota, was recalled to Manchester on March 6 and played nine games, assisting on three goals and picking up eight penalty minutes. In fifty-one games with the Royals this year, Atherton has scored thirteen goals, picked up twenty-five assists (thirty-eight points) and registered 46 penalty minutes. In a separate transaction, the Royals placed defenseman Brian Boulay on the seven day injured-reserve.

The Royals return to action tonight (March 29; 7:05 pm) when the Wheeling Nailers visit the Sovereign Center for the final time this year. The first 2000 fans that night will receive a copy of Center Ice Magazine. The game night broadcast on Friday will begin at 6:35 pm with the pre-game warm-up show on ESPN Radio 1240 am in Ephrata, as well as on the internet through the Royals' website, www.royalshockey.com. Streaming video is available on a pay per view basis through the B2 Networks.
