Condors Acquire Tyler Liebel from Utah

Bakersfield, Calif - The Bakersfield Condors Professional Hockey Club today announced they have acquired forward Tyler Liebel from Utah in a trade that sent Joel Irving and Shawn Thompson to the Grizzlies.
Liebel, a 5-foot-10, 195-pound, left wing from Osoyoos, BC, had two goals, seven assists and 23 penalty minutes in 16 games with the Grizzlies. Prior to his stint with Utah, the 24-year-old also played with the Pensacola Ice Pilots, recording two goals, five assists and 57 penalty minutes in 10 games this season.
In 2004-05 and 2005-06, Liebel totaled 26 goals, 54 assists and 323 penalty minutes in 103 games with the Wichita Thunder in the Central Hockey League.
"We're looking for some toughness and Tyler brings us that," said Condors head coach Marty Raymond. "He's a gritty player with good speed and a willingness to mix it up that will help our team.
Irving, a 6-foot-4, 225-pound right wing, had seven goals, 18 assists and 62 penalty minutes in 29 games this year, while Thompson, a 6-foot-2, 190- pound defenseman, had a goal, two assists and 16 penalty minutes in 21 games with Bakersfield.
On Friday, January 5th, the Condors are in Las Vegas to take on the Wranglers for a 7:05 p.m. game. They return home on Saturday, January 6th, for a 7 p.m. tilt against the Victoria Salmon Kings.
