BOMBERS NOTES

*The Month That Was! The Bombers finished the month of December with one of the best marks in the ECHL, going 9-2-1. They outscored their opponents 37-28 in those 12 games and out shot their opponents in 10 of the 12 games. Captain Greg Labenski averaged a point per game with his 12 points, including scoring his first goal of the season and first on the power play.

*Power Surge! The Bombers power play is starting to click. They are 7/34 (21.0%) in their last five games and have scored at least one power play goal in six straight games. They have scored two power play goals each in two of their last five as well.

*Mr. Reliable Between The Pipes! Adam Berkhoel has started the last 14 consecutive games for the Bombers. He is 10-3-1, with a 2.23 GAA, two shutouts and a .908 SV% in those 14 games. He is currently tied for the ECHL lead in wins (14) and shutouts (3). Berkhoel also leads the league in GAA (2.07) and is 8th in save percentage (.919). His three shutouts this season already ties the club record for most in a single season and he still has a possible 48 starts left to set the mark all to himself.

* Bombs Away! The Bombers have out shot their opponents is 29 out of the 32 games played this season. They are averaging 32.96 shots for per game and only allowing 26.00 shots against per game, that mark leads the ECHL in shots against.

LOOK OUT BELOW

* Tied For First Place! The Bombers are now in a tie for first place with the Cincinnati Cyclones and Reading Royals for the top spot in the North Division. All three teams have 32 points, but the Bombers have the best winning percentage (.667), therefore they are listed above the other two teams in the standings.

IMPORTANT WEEK AHEAD! Dayton returns to the ice Friday night, as they travel to WesBanco Arena to take on the Wheeling Nailers at 7:30 p.m. That will be the first of three games in three days for the second straight week for the Bombers, as they return to the Nutter Center on Saturday to take on the Wheeling Nailers at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday they will take on the Trenton Titans at 5:00 p.m.
