CHARLOTTE, NC - The Charlotte Checkers went 1-2-0 last week at they lost to South Carolina and defeated Augusta at home and lost on the road to Augusta Sunday night. Bruce Graham and defenseman, Jan Vodrazka led the team in scoring with two goals each for the week. Nathan Gillies put up 3 points Saturday night against Augusta with a game-winning goal and two assists. Spirits are elevated in Charlotte with the return of Ryan Constant and Zdenek Bahensky from Hartford. The Wolf Pack also reassigned, Right Wing, Hugh Jessiman who will skate in his first Checkers game this season on Tuesday night.

Thursday, December 28, 2006 vs. South Carolina, L, 4-3 The Charlotte Checkers lost to the South Carolina Stingrays in a close thriller at home at St. Lawrence Homes Home Ice at Charlotte Bobcats Arena. The Checkers rallied late in the game but came up short losing to the Stingrays 4-3. Bruce Graham led the Checkers in scoring with 2 goals and 1 assist for the evening.
Saturday, December 30, 2006 vs. Augusta, W, 4-3 The Charlotte Checkers scored late in the third period to defeat the Augusta Lynx 4-3 Saturday night at St. Lawrence Homes Home Ice at Charlotte Bobcats Arena. Nathan Gillies led the Checkers in scoring with one goal and 2 assists on the evening.
Sunday, December 31, 2006 vs. Augusta, L, 5-2 The Charlotte Checkers were cruising early in the second period of their New Year's Eve encounter with the August Lynx. The Checkers were enjoying a two-goal lead and two early-period power-play opportunities when the roof suddenly caved in.
