Wheeling Nailers News Release
The Wheeling Nailers held their 3rd annual Golden Spike Association Golf Outing yesterday at the Palmer Course in Oglebay. The event was a success for the third straight year as there was a full field of participants, all of the proceeds from the golf outing will go to the Golden Spike Association Tickets for Kids.
There were a record number of participants this year with over 100, all enjoyed playing the area's number one rated golf course. After the golf was finished they were treated to a great meal provided by Outback Steakhouse. The participants also walked home with a number of great door prizes that included restaurant gift certificates, Nailers and Penguins tickets, and autographed memorabilia.
The Golden Spike Association Tickets for Kids has been developed to bring together local business people, corporations, foundations, and individuals who are proud of our history and want to support the reconstruction of the region. City officials are working to keep young professionals here and make the Ohio Valley an even better place to live, work, and play. The Golden Spike Association Tickets for Kids proceeds will be used to purchase Nailers tickets for charities, non-for-profit organizations, or schools.
The Nailers would like to thank all of the individuals and businesses that participated in the event and helped make this program a success. If you are interested in getting involved in the program please call the Nailers office at (304) 234-GOAL.
