COMETS SIGN FORWARD BRENDAN WOODS TO AN AHL CONTRACT

Utica, NY - Utica Comets General Manager Ryan Johnson has announced that the club has signed forward Brendan Woods to an AHL contract.

Woods, 25, has skated in six games with the Comets registering one goal and 24 penalty minutes. The Humboldt, Saskatchewan native has totaled 201 career AHL games amassing 65 points (31-34-65) and 247 penalty minutes. In addition, Woods has dressed in seven NHL games with the Carolina Hurricanes.

The 6-3, 222-pound forward was selected by Carolina in the fifth round, 129th overall, at the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
