Everett Silvertips News Release

PORTLAND, Oreg. - A furious third period comeback fell just short Sunday night as the Everett Silvertips fell to the Portland Winterhawks 6-4 at Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

Jack O'Brien opened the scoring with a powerplay goal at 4:40 in the first period. Austin Roest responded with a rebound goal at 13:24.

Portland scored four unanswered goals from then on, including two goals from Carter Sotheran and two goals on the powerplay. With Portland leading 5-1 early in the third period, the Silvertips began applying pressure at 3:36 as Dominik Rymon buried his 13th of the season while on the man advantage. Andrew Petruk cashed in his first of the season at 10:42 to bring Everett within striking distance, followed in short order by Roest's second of the night at 12:21 on the powerplay.

A Josh Davies empty-netter sealed the deal at 19:08, capping off a disappointing end for the Silvertips.

Ethan Chadwick stopped 34 of 39 in the loss. Luke Brunen earned the victory for Portland, replacing an injured Jan Špunar 13 minutes into play. He saved 21 of 25.
