Medicine Hat Tigers News Release

Brandon, MB - Goaltender Ethan McCallum (Brandon, MB) made 26 saves, while Cayden Lindstrom (Chetwynd, BC) scored the game winner to help insure the Medicine Hat Tigers take a 3-2 win in Brandon Saturday night.

The first period was a fast paced and equal opportunity period for both the Tigers and Wheat Kings. On an odd-man rush at 6:02, cue captain Tyler MacKenzie (Red Deer, AB) as he finds and buries his 12th of the season past Brandon starter Carson Bjarnason. Cayden Lindstrom (Chetwynd,BC) & Hunter St.Martin (Edmonton, AB) draw assists on the mark for MacKenzie.

But just 50 seconds later a turnover in the Tiger zone leads to a game tying goal from Nate Danielson beating Ethan McCallum (Brandon, MB) to make it 1-1.

Hayden Harsanyi (Calgary, AB) would then get the Tigers back on top as he'd get his second of the season on another loose puck in front of the Brandon net at 8:07. Oasiz Wiesblatt (Calgary, AB) & Gavin McKenna (Whitehorse, YT) would pitch in with assists to give the Tigers the lead heading to the 2nd period.

In the second the Tigers would fire 16 shots towards the Wheat Kings way, scoring once thanks to Cayden Lindstrom's 16th of the season and 7th power play goal on the campaign to push the Tigers lead to 3-1. Wiesblatt and McKenna would respond again to have multi-point games on the night as the Tigers would take that 3-1 lead to the third.

Brandon would push the envelope early in the final frame as Jayden Wiens would solve Ethan McCallum at 5:45, but that's as close as the Wheat Kings would get as the Tigers move to 14-6-2 on the season.

Medicine Hat goes 1/3 on the power play while running a clean sheet at 2/2 in the win.

Next up for the Tigers, a pair of home games this coming week starting with the Regina Pats on Wednesday, November 22.
