Everett Silvertips News Release
KENT, Wash. - The Seattle Thunderbirds' penalty kill came up clutch in Kent, as the Everett Silvertips fell 4-1 at accesso ShoWare Center Saturday night.
Antonio Martorana opened the scoring at 6:37, poking in a loose puck in front of the net for his team-leading ninth goal of the year. Sawyer Mynio wired a wrist shot past Tyler Palmer at 15:06 to give Seattle a 2-0 lead. Everett halved the deficit at 16:03, as Carter Bear found Beau Courtney on a two-on-one rush for Courtney's fourth tally of the campaign.
An Eric Alarie powerplay redirection with three seconds remaining in the period gave Seattle a 3-1 advantage heading into the first intermission.
Coster Dunn capped off the scoring with an empty netter at 18:08 for a 4-1 final. Seattle killed off all eight Everett powerplays throughout the night.
Scott Ratzlaff stopped 42 of 43 in the victory. Tyler Palmer saved 23 of 26.
