JOLIET, IL-The Joliet JackHammers welcome former Chicago Bear William "The Refrigerator" Perry to Silver Cross Field on Monday, August 14 to celebrate "Are You Ready for Some Football Night?" Members of the Arena Football League Champion Chicago Rush are also scheduled to attend. "The Fridge" will throw out the first pitch and sign autographs on the concourse from 7:00-7:45 as the JackHammers play the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks that night at 7:05.
Perry will also be made available for autographs from 6:00-6:45 in the picnic area exclusively to groups of 20 or more that book group outings from now (August 1) until the day of the game. For group ticket information, please call JackHammers Director of Ticket Sales Kyle Kreger at (815) 774-2883.
A first round draft pick of the Bears in 1985, "The Fridge" made his mark on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. He went to the Super Bowl in his rookie season with the '85 Bears team that went 15-1 in the regular season and won 46-10 over New England in Super Bowl XX.
Perry played in 138 games from '85-'94 recording 29 sacks, five fumble recoveries, and three touchdowns, including one touchdown in the Super Bowl.
The JackHammers will honor local Pop Warner football teams with a pre-game parade. Any team interested in participating in the parade is asked to call the JackHammers front office at 815-726-BALL (2255).
Loose Gravel: When the JackHammers play the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks at Silver Cross Field on Wednesday, August 16 at 7:05 pm, hot dogs will cost just $1. Also that night, Harris Bank presents a Lunch Box giveaway to the first 1,000 fans and the Silver Cross Hospital Have a Catch Night will take place on the field before the game.
