Niagara IceDogs News Release

The Niagara IceDogs lost a tough one 6-4 to the Barrie Colts Saturday night in Barrie.

The Colts took the lead 5:38 into the opening frame when Roy Radke scored to make it 1-0. Vince Dunn answered for the IceDogs with a power play goal before Andrew Mangiapane restored the lead for the Colts. Brendan Perlini and Joseph Blandisi exchanged goals just 14 seconds apart and the Colts had a 3-2 lead after 20 minutes.

Ryan Mantha's blast from the point tied it up 2:10 into the second but Brendan Lemieux scored twice for the Colts to make it 5-3 heading into the third period.

Johnny Corneil got the IceDogs within a goal with his fourth of the season, but that's as close as they would get as Blandisi scored an empty netter to make it 6-4.

Brandon Hope made 36 saves in goal for the IceDogs.

The IceDogs will play their third game in three days as they head to North Bay to take on the Battalion tomorrow afternoon.
