HARLINGEN - The San Angelo Colts came back from a 3-0 deficit to beat the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings 5-3 in seven innings of Game 2 of a doubleheader on Tuesday at Harlingen Field.

The WhiteWings (21-18) jumped on Chandler Barnard (6-1) with two outs in the bottom of the first as David Peralta, Leivi Ventura and Gerardo Avila hit consecutive singles, Eric Gonzalez was hit by a pitch and Jonathan Fernandez forced in a run with a walk to make it 2-0.

With one out in the fourth, Brandon Decker singled and stole second, setting up an RBI-double by Francisco Santana to make it 3-0.

That was it against Barnard, who struck out four in six innings while retiring the final eight batters he faced.

The Colts (24-14) were 0-7 with runners in scoring position with four strikeouts against Andy Wells until they had runners at second and third with two outs in the fifth. Landon Camp hit a bloop-single to drive-in both runs. Camp then moved to second on a wild pitch. That was it against Wells, who struck out nine while walking two and allowing four hits in four and two-thirds innings. Danny Rondon (2-2) came in and allowed a game-tying single to Clay Calfee.

Danny Hernandez led off the top of the sixth with a double and, one out later, scored on a double by Travis Calloway to give the Colts the lead.

Hernandez added an RBI-groundout in the top of the seventh to complete the scoring.

Sean Kramer pitched a scoreless seventh for his sixth save.

The WhiteWings take Wednesday off before returning to action for a double-header of seven-inning games against the Edinburg Roadrunners on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at Edinburg Baseball Stadium.
