Colorado Eagles Reach 3,000 Season Ticket Mark
February 18, 2003 - ECHL (ECHL)
Colorado Eagles News Release
Windsor, CO - The Colorado Eagles have reached another major milestone for ticket sales, the team announced Wednesday. Even though the Eagles' first hockey game at the new Budweiser Events Center at The Ranch is still eight months away, the team has already reached 3,000 season ticket commitments with Club Seats nearly sold out.
"The overwhelming response is a sign of what tremendous fan support we have here in northern Colorado. Even with the success of ticket sales so far, there are still great seats available," said Bill Stewart, CEO and part owner of the team.
In other team news, it was also announced that Eagles replica game jerseys are available for sale through the team website, www.coloradoeagles.com, and through the Pelican Lakes Pro Shop located in the Water Valley residential community in Windsor. In addition to the replica game jerseys, the team also currently has a full line of merchandise including caps, fleece vests, golf windshirts, denim shirts, letter jackets, polo shirts and sweatshirts.
Eagles Head Coach, Chris Stewart, has also recently completed a two week scouting trip to Canada during which he scouted 16 teams in the western Canada region. "At this time of the year it is important to stay abreast of the talent in the U.S. colleges and Major Junior Canadian leagues. We will be able to begin signing players after mid-March, so we need to be looking now. Our emphasis at the moment is at the goalie position as well as defensemen and a highly skilled centerman," said Stewart.
The Eagles will begin their inaugural season in October 2003 as the Central Hockey League's 18th franchise and are slated to play in the Northwest Division. "We have a commitment to our fans in Northern Colorado to provide affordable family entertainment," Eagles President and General Manager Ralph Backstrom said. "Our team will be very entertaining and we are committed to putting a competitive team on the ice from Day One."
Question regarding ticket sales information and corporate sponsorship opportunities can be answered by calling the Colorado Eagles office at 970-674-1743 or 866-679-PUCK during business hours from 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday, or by visiting the team's website at www.coloradoeagles.com.
