ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - Love is never in the air when Northeast Division rival Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies face off against the Roanoke Express. The Valentine's Day matchup was no different. The Bullies managed to defeat the Express by a final of 4-3 in a shootout and won the regular season series, 5-4-0 in nine games against Roanoke.
Captain Stefan Rivard scored 38 seconds into the second period to put the Bullies up 3-1. But Roanoke answered with a goal by Frank Novock and a power-play tally by Cam Bristow.
Rivard finished the game with two points (1G, 1A), and tallied the game-winning goal in the shootout. Jade Galbraith and Luke Curtin each contributed a goal and an assist, and each also made his attempt in the shootout.
Jim Henkel extended his league-leading season high point-scoring streak to 20 games with an assist on Galbraith's first period tally.
Netminder Matt Yeats recorded his fifth straight win and turned aside 24 Express shots.
Royals Sneak By Bullies in Overtime

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. â Jim Henkel extended his league-leading point-scoring streak to 21 games and scored the game-tying goal to send the game into overtime before Reading's Mat Snesrud netted the game winner two minutes, two seconds into the extra session. The Royals defeated the Bullies, 6-5, and Atlantic City is now 3-1-2 against Reading.
J.F. Caudron tallied four points (2G, 2A), including a power-play goal, and Henkel and Stefan Rivard each contributed a goal and an assist.
Matt Yeats recorded his first loss in six games and stopped 23 Royals shots. Royals netminder Jeff Sanger made 29 saves.
METCALF AND PARADISE RETURN TO PROVIDENCE
After a short-lived stint with the Boardwalk Bullies, defenseman Peter Metcalf and forward Chris Paradise returned to Providence, RI, Saturday to rejoin the American Hockey League Bruins. Metcalf, the former University of Maine captain, registered four points (1G, 3A), including one game-winning goal, in five games for the Bullies, while Paradise tallied one goal in four games.
The "A" IS CALLING
With Metcalf and Paradise returning to the P-Bruins, the Bullies account for six players in the AHL today. Scott Stirling is 5-0-0 with a 2.19 goals against average and a 0.923 save percentage. Kirk Furey has four assists and a plus-2 in eight games with the Philadelphia Phantoms. Carl Corazzini tallied three goals, including one game winner, and is a plus-5 in 11 games with the Providence Bruins. Kevin Colley has earned four points (2G, 2A) in 12 games with the Syracuse Crunch.
TRADE BRINGS VETERAN DEFENSEMAN TO ATLANTIC CITY
Saturday night the Bullies traded defenseman Jim Vickers and forward Mike Martiniello to the Baton Rouge Kingfish in exchange for blueliner Steve Cheredaryk. Rookie Vickers had nine points (2G, 7A) and was a plus-12 in 48 games with the Bullies this season. Martiniello, who joined the Bullies before last year's playoff run, had seven points (4G, 3A) and was a minus-2 in 30 games with the Bullies this year. Selected by the Winnipeg Jets in the fourth round (82nd overall) in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft, Cheredaryk has 19 points (6G, 13A) in 31 games with the Kingfish this year. In nine professional seasons, the 27-year old from Calgary, Alberta, has played for five ECHL clubs and four AHL teams.

Matt Yeats is 5-0-1 in his last six consecutive starts... Jim Henkel holds the longest scoring streak in the league this year...Henkel is on a 21-game point scoring streak with 35 points on 12 goals and 23 assists in 21 games stretching from December 18, 2002 to February 15, 2003...Henkel (24G, 31A) is second in the league in scoring amonge rookies with 55 points...Jade Galbraith (20G, 33A) is fourth in the league in scoring among rookies with 53 points...J.F. Caudron is on a seven-game point scoring streak with 18 points (10G, 8A) in his last seven games...Caudron has 20 points (11G, 9A) and is a +6 in his last 10games.
