
Colabello Walks off with Homer in 12th

Nick Salotti hit a two-run homer with one out in the ninth and Chris Colabello had a walk-off homer three innings later as the Tornadoes defeated the Jackals 3-2 on Thursday night.
Mike Gedman picked up his second professional win with a scoreless inning, while the Worcester bullpen as a whole pitched 5.2 shutout innings. Ryan Lobban got a no-decision, pitching 6.1 frames and allowing two runs on six hits. He fanned seven batters (while the staff retired 15 that way) and walked 2.
Sean Smith's homer in the top of the second gave the Jackals a 2-0 lead, which held up until the final inning of regulation. Steve Fox blew the save, giving up two runs (both earned) on three hits in 1.2 innings.
Jeff Gogal was tagged with the loss, pitching 1.1 innings and serving up Colabello's 16th homer of the year.
Worcester won three of the four games against New Jersey, all by one run. The Tornadoes will host the New York Federals for a weekend series starting on Friday with a 7:05pm first pitch. There will be a post-game fireworks show, and Kevin Cooper will be on the mound for the home team. The gates open at 6:00pm, and Tornadoes Pre-Game Live on USTREAM begins at 6:50.
