Worcester 3, New Jersey 2
In the bottom of the ninth inning, Worcester designated hitter Nick Salotti hit a two-run homer to tie the score 2-2 and bring the game into extra innings, and the Tornadoes topped New Jersey 3-2 in the 12th inning at Hanover Insurance Park. The Jackals scored in the top of the second inning when center fielder Sean Smith had a two-run homer, and both of the teams went scoreless during the next six frames. In the bottom of the 12th inning, first baseman Chris Colabello hit his 16th home run of the season to win the game for Worcester. Michael Gedman, now 2-1 on the season, eanred the win by holding the Jackals to no runs in the 12th inning. New Jersey's starting pitcher, Shaun Ellis, allowed four hits and no runs in seven innings, and Jeff Gogal, now 1-4 on the season, recorded the loss.
