York Revolution News Release

The York Revolution won the middle game of a three-game series against the Camden Riversharks 5-3 on Saturday night in front of 3,911 fans at Sovereign Bank Stadium, making it back to back nights they've beaten the Riversharks and their third victory in-a-row overall. York's offense was constantly putting the ball in play as they recorded at least one hit in every inning of the game. Revolution pitchers helped their cause as well with starter LHP Chris Cody going into the seventh inning, pitching very efficiently while only giving up two runs. The Revs will go for a third consecutive sweep of a home series on Sunday at 5 p.m.

The Revolution got on the board in the first to open things up as RF Chris Walker scored on an RBI groundout from DH Jose Herrera, his 17th RBI since joining the team.

York increased their lead the following inning as C Octavio Martinez hit a broken bat single to bring in SS Eric Eymann giving them a two-run advantage.

Camden put up a run in the third as DH Juan Francia slapped a single up the middle to plate CF Drew Macias with the first Rivershark hit of the game.

The Revolution answered in the bottom half of the third when Herrera duplicated his first at bat, bringing in Walker on another RBI groundout, increasing York's lead to 3-1.

The Riversharks brought in a run in the top of the fourth with an RBI groundout of their own when SS Danny Richar beat out a potential double play to score 3B Pedro Feliz cutting York's lead to 3-2.

York added to their lead in the bottom of the sixth when Martinez brought in LF Val Majewski for another run, his 2nd RBI of the night, by way of a ground rule double.

Majewski knocked in an insurance run in the seventh as he hit in his 40th RBI of the season to bring 2B Ramon Castro across the plate, marking the fifth time in the first seven innings the Revolution scored a run.

The Riversharks made things interesting in the top of the ninth. With the bases loaded, Francia smacked a liner to center field to bring in a run on a sacrifice fly. York closer RHP Michael Nix then got his cleat stuck in the ground and balked moving the tying two runs into scoring position, but retired 2B Lloyd Turner on a fly out to right to end the game.

Cody earned the win (6-4) matching his season high in innings pitched lasting six and a third innings. Nix earned his sixth save of the season pitching himself out of a jam in the top of the ninth inning to end the game.
