Carolina Cobras News Release

CHARLOTTE – The Carolina Cobras of the Arena Football League made several player moves to complete the roster that will travel to face the Dallas Desperados in the team's season opener this Sunday, February 8 at the American Airlines Center.

The Cobras traded offensive specialist James Bowden to the Orlando Predators for future considerations and waived wide receiver/linebacker D.J. Humphries, offensive and defensive lineman Bryan Ray and quarterback Charlie Peterson.

AFL rules state that each team is limited to a 24-player roster. In each contest, 20 players are declared active. The league's mandatory cut down date to reach the regular season 24-man roster is today. This also marks the beginning of the signing period for practice squad players. Each team may carry up to four players on their practice squad in addition to their 24-man roster.

Carolina will open its home schedule on Saturday, February 21 versus the Arizona Rattlers. Single-game, season and group tickets are on sale now and start as low as $64 per seat. For more information, call 877-4-COBRAS or visit www.cobrasfootball.com.
