Rush makes final cuts

February 2, 2004 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Chicago Rush News Release

With its 2004 training camp complete, the Chicago Rush finalized its 24-man roster today by releasing 12 players and placing one on the league's injured reserve list.

The 2004 Rush 24-man roster features 21 AFL veterans and only three rookies. The team, however, has a very different look than in 2003, with just 12 players remaining from the squad that finished the 2003 season in Rush blue.

To get down to the AFL roster limit, the Rush released offensive specialists Reggie Allen and Adrian Zullo, QB Jose Fuentes, FB/LBs J.R. Niklos and Casey Urlacher, WR/LB David Bautista, WR/DBs Shawn Byrdsong, DaShane Dennis and Jerrian James, and linemen William Carr, Nate Frowsing and Brad Harris.

FB/LB Chris Browning, who was injured in the team's scrimmage in Detroit last week, was placed on injured reserve.

The 24-man roster breakdown by position follows (returning players in bold):

Kicker (1) ... Keith Gispert
