
Clutch Hit, Strong Start Helps Tribe to Victory

INDIANAPOLIS - Pedro Florimon delivered a clutch two-out single in the seventh inning and Steven Brault went six scoreless innings as the Indians won 3-1 on Saturday at Victory Field against Charlotte.
Brault allowed three hits, walked four and struck out nine. He lowered his ERA to 2.15 with a rate of 11.80 K/9 on the year. The lefthander struck out a pair of batters in each of the first three innings and has now allowed just one earned run over his last four starts at any level, spanning 21 innings.
Indianapolis (51-50) and Charlotte (45-56) traded zeroes until Jose Osuna homered in the fifth for the second straight day. It was his third with Indianapolis this season.
The Knights evened the game at 1-1 in the top of the seventh. Josh Bell doubled to open the home half of the frame and Jason Rogers followed with a walk. Charlotte elected to walk Danny Ortiz with two outs to bring up Pedro Florimon. The infielder delivered a clutch two-run knock to put the home club ahead, 3-1.
Dovydas Neverauskas (2-2) was charged with a blown save and the win. Jorge Rondon earned his eighth save with a scoreless ninth to close the contest.
David Holmberg (0-1) was charged with the loss in his first appearance for the Knights this season.
Action between the two teams will resume on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. This story was not subject to the approval of the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues or its clubs.
