Clippers Let Lead Slip Away, Fall to Charge

November 28, 2018 - NBA G League (G League)
Ontario Clippers News Release

CANTON, Ohio - The Agua Caliente Clippers of Ontario (4-5) could not hold off a second half run by the Canton Charge (4-5) and fall, 111-103.

Agua Caliente came out of the gates hot, shooting 60 percent from the field in the half, making 24 of their 40 attempts, and leading by as much as 15 points in the second quarter. Their efficient half was capped off with a three-pointer by two-way player Johnathan Motley to give the Clippers a 60-50 lead going into the break.

Motley, last weeks G League Player of the Week, finished the game with 21 points, adding six rebounds and two blocked shots.

The Clippers cooled off, making only 8 of their 21 shot attempts in the third quarter, and Canton charged back. One of Levi Randolph's three three-pointers erased the Charge's halftime deficit right before the third quarter buzzer and tied the game at 78.

Canton would control the game the rest of the way. With the score even at 89 with 8:29 left to play, the Charge went on a 12-1 run to take an 11 point lead, their largest of the night. Forward Jaron Blossomgame led the Charge with 24 points on 9-of-17 shooting.

Two-way player Angel Delgado came off the bench for the first time this season for the Clippers, recording 19 points and 17 rebounds for his team-leading seventh double-double this season. This was his fourth game in a row with at least 17 rebounds.

The Clippers head south on Friday as they look to get back in the win column against the Austin Spurs. The game will tip off at 5:30 p.m. Pacific at the H-E-B Center in Cedar Park, Texas.
