
Clippers Crowned G League Showcase Cup Champions

LAS VEGAS - The Ontario Clippers (15-4), the NBA G League affiliate of the LA Clippers, defeat the Windy City Bulls (12-7), 99-97, to claim the G League Showcase Cup Championship title on Thursday afternoon.
Clippers' guard Xavier Moon knocked down Ontario's last three buckets, including the game-winning mid-range pull up. Moon finished the game with 17 points to lead all reserves.
LA Clippers assignee Brandon Boston Jr. led Ontario with 21 points on 8-of-17 shooting from the field. Malik Fitts added 19 points to go with eight rebounds.
The Bulls were led by Carlik Jones' game-high 22 points. Jones added seven rebounds and seven assists on the afternoon.
Neither team led by more than seven on the night and it was the Clippers who held a 74-72 advantage heading into the fourth quarter. With the target score set at 99, it was back-and-forth as the two sides tied and exchanged leads for a total of 16 times in the frame. Moon scored 8 points in the quarter, including Ontario's final six points.
Next up, the Clippers look to ride the wave into the regular season as they visit the G League Ignite on Tuesday, December 27th for a two-game set. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 pm PST inside the Dollar Loan Center in Henderson Nevada.
