Magic Fall to Kings

The Lakeland Magic, NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, fall to the Stockton Kings 111-105 on Thursday at Mandalay Bay.

The Magic opened the game with total dominance in the first few minutes, leading by 17 points at the 4:54 mark. Magic guard Jay Scrubb caught fire scoring 10 first-quarter points. D.J. Steward helped the Kings claw back into the game, Lakeland led at the end of the first 26-21.

To start the second quarter neither team could take over the game. Both teams went back and forth in scoring. Stockton did not claim their first lead until the 3:41 mark with a shot made by Jordan Ford. There was a total of three lead changes in the second quarter. Ford helped the Kings win the first half with seven second-quarter points. Kings Led 52-48 at the end of the first half.

The Kings continued to build on their momentum in the third quarter. The Kings led by 20 with 3:30 on the clock. The Kings could do no wrong and were firing on all cylinders. Keon Ellis was red hot scoring 10 third-quarter points. The Magic had no answer and trailed at the end of the third quarter 85-70.

The fourth quarter was all Magic as they went on a 14-2 run. The Magic had tied things up at 99 each after a shot made by Alex Morales. Despite the Magic's effort, the Kings were able to seal a win finishing the game 111-105.

Chance Comanche had a double-double scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Kings. Tre Burke had 14 points, six assists, and three steals off the bench.

Jay Scrubb had a game-high 33 points for the Magic.

The Lakeland Magic will face the Westchester Knicks on Tuesday, December 27 at the RP Funding Center at 7:00 PM on NBAGleague.com.
