Dayton Dragons News Release
Dayton, Ohio - The Clinton Lumber Kings featured a consistent offensive attack with runs in five different innings as they defeated the Dayton Dragons 8-4 on Sunday afternoon. The Lumber Kings completed a sweep of the three-game series, handing the Dragons their first sweep in a three-game home series since August of 2014.
Clinton built a 6-1 lead by the top of the eighth inning before the Dragons battled back and were one base hit away from the tying the game. After Mitch Piatnik reached on a third strike wild pitch, Brantley Bell singled to left to drive in Siri and make it 6-3. Shed Long walked to load the bases with no one out. One batter later, James Vasquez grounded out to drive in Piatnik and advance the runners to second and third with two outs with the score standing at 6-4. But Luis Gonzalez struck out to end the inning.
